Welcome to The Collaborative Center for Community-Based Research and Service

We invite you to participate in the work and programs of the Collaborative, to contribute to the well-being of the local community and solve local and global problems through research, scholarship, service, and social action.

The Collaborative Center features courses, community-based action research, partnerships among students, faculty, and community organizations, and varied and creative forums for civic engagement and public scholarship.

Students can find out about service-learning, mentoring, and leadership opportunities linked to course work, become Rutgers Civic Scholars, and work for and contribute to our new On-Line Journal; faculty can find collaborators and partners in public scholarship and experiential teaching and contribute to our Journal; community partners can participate in our Advancing Community Development program and improve their organizational structure and capacity, and use our Journal to share accomplishments and get help with problem solving; and much more.

Join our mission and share in our vision.  The Collaborative Center belongs to everyone who is ready to share and contribute.

Dr. Maurice Elias, Academic Director, SAS Professor of Psychology
